F. Lorraine Wyss

F. Lorraine Wyss, 82, of Independence, MO passed away on August 20, 2005 at the Independence Regional Health Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the First Christian Church of Independence, Memorial Fund. Lorraine Wyss was born on October 22, 1922 in rural Ray County, MO to Jesse and Goldie (Watson) Yoakum. She was married on November 23, 1941 to Ross B. Wyss, and has lived in Independence since 1943. Lorraine retired as a partner of the R.B. Wyss Construction Company, and was a long-time member of the First Christian Church of Independence. Lorraine was proud of her time spent at the Boeing Aircraft plant in Wichita, KS where she was a Rosie the Riveter, helping in the war effort. She was also extremely proud of her loving family. Lorraine is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ross B. Wyss; one son, Larry Ross Wyss; one daughter, Kay Michele Taylor; 4 grandchildren, Max Christian Ross Wyss, Anna Hooper, Beau Taylor and Benn Taylor; and one great grandson, Corbin Ross Wyss.
