Beth K. Yates, 86, Independence, MO passed away Jan. 25, 2009. Services will be at 6 pm, Wed. Jan. 28, 2009 at Carson-Speaks Chapel with a visitation following until 8 pm. Committal services will be at 3 pm, Friday, Jan. 30 at Green Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to St. Luke’s Hospice.
Beth was born July 29, 1922 in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Northeast High School. She is a U.S. Marine veteran of WW II and a member of the American Legion and the Children’s Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She was an office manager at Cigna Life Insurance Co. for twenty-five years and retired in 1981. She attended Unity Church.
Beth was preceded in death by her husband Arthur B. Yates; sister Margie Ford and brother Roger Kittle. She is survived by niece Connie French and husband Richard, Independence, MO; nephews Dennis Ford and wife Kathy, Raytown, MO; Mike Ford, Kansas City, MO; David Ford and wife Katherine, Independence, MO; and many other nieces and nephews.
