Ernest Vincent Yates

Ernest Vincent Yates, 78, of Kansas City, MO passed away at his home February 28, 2015. Visitation will be held Friday, March 6, 2015 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Chapel. Burial will take place in Longview Memorial Gardens. Ernest was born on September 12, 1936 in Slater, MO to Benjamin and Julia (Herider) Yates. For over 29 years Ernest was a painter, and was a member of Painters Union Local #3. He enjoyed deer hunting, spending time outdoors, but most of all his family. Ernest was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Judith Sheller Yates. Survivors include: daughter Cindy Inlow (Wayne Ellis); son Curtis Yates, (Mary Jean); grandchildren Brandy Yates, John Barrera III, Miracle Rodriquez, Salena Barrera, Ernest Barrera, David Inlow III, Robert Barrera, and Steven Padura; 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Ernest was also preceded in death by; his parents; daughter Becky Barrera; grandson Curtis Yates Jr.; brothers Benjamin Yates and Phillip Yates; and a sister Gertrude Yates. The family would like to thank Ernest’s caregivers Emily Morales and Tasha Martin for all of the wonderful care they took with Ernest.
