Juanita J. York, 88 Independence, MO passed away Monday, June 15, 2009 at Liberty Terrace Care Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 19, 2009 at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Liberty Hospital Hospice.
Juanita was born January 10, 1921 in Sedalia, MO the daughter of Jack and Ona Emily (Swope) Tindle. She was employed for 40 years with JC Penney Department Store in sales and fitting department. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and never missed a bingo game. She especially loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Melvin F. York, Sr.; four sisters and her parents. Survivors include her sons, Melvin F. York, Jr. and his wife Maureen of Blue Springs; and Richard W. York and his wife Renee of Kansas City; 9 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and brother, Jack Tindle of Carrolton.
