Arlin Young

Arlin Lee Young, 74, of Independence, MO peacefully passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 at his home in his sleep. Memorial services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the South Crysler Restoration Branch Church. Cremation with interment in Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Arlin was born December 12, 1933 in Salinas, CA to Stillman Arlin and Velma Rose (Niday) Young. He graduated from Arcata High School in Arcata, CA in 1951. Arlin married Betty Lou Bullock in 1953. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years before being honorably discharged. His favorite pastime was traveling with Betty. They spent countless hours traveling the United States in their motor home, as well as going on many cruise ship trips and flying to Mexico, Central America and Europe. Arlin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty Lou Young; son Stillman Young and wife Lisa, daughter Susan Bass and husband Fred; grandchildren Richard, Stephen, and Athena Barber, Stillman Young, Jr., Stacy Young, Jeremy and Jennifer Bass; great-grandchildren Madison and Stephen Barber, Sam, Daniel and Mariah Young; brothers Gary Young and wife Delores, Stephen Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
