Passed away Oct. 27, 2009. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at St. Marks Catholic Church in Independence; interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The Rosary will precede the service at 10 am after which the visitation will begin.
Mildred was born May 16, 1918 in Kansas City, MO to Joseph and Lulu Henley. She was a retired beautician who owned her own shop in Independence for many years. She was a member of St. Mark’s parish.
Mildred was preceded in death by her first husband Jack W. Whetstone; her second husband Arthur H. Young; brother Gene Henley and sister Jessie Lynch. She is survived by son Dennis W. Whetstone and wife Peggy; daughters Cheryl K. Thompson and husband Mike; Cathy M. Heater and husband John; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
