Richard Young

Richard “Dick” Lee Young, 82, of Independence, MO passed February 5, 2013. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. followed by a 10:00 a.m. service on Monday, February 11, at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO. Burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Dick retired from Smith Grieves, where he had worked over 44 years as an offset pressman. He was also a Mason, Shriner and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; son, Gerald; and his parents, Boyd and Margaret; brother, Boyd; sisters, Greta and Ormagene; grandson, Richard; and great granddaughter, Jerica Sullins. He is survived by son, Michael Young and wife Linda of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Anita Stockdall and husband George of Independence, MO; sister, Joan Richey; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
