Shirley M. Yutzy, 64, Independence, MO passed away Monday, September 19, 2011.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church; 600 N. Liberty, Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation – Local Chapter; www.kidneyksmo.org.
Shirley was born May 21, 1947 in the Philippines, the daughter of Sotero and Valentina (Tadina) Maliwat. She was a graduate of Wm Chrisman High School and Jenny Lund as an LPN. She had worked for Independence Sanitarium as an LPN before caring for her parents and children. Shirley was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Gil Maliwat and her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband Daniel Yutzy of 40 years; son, Steven Yutzy and wife Sara; daughter, Jennifer Moore and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Sierra, Sean, Lexi, Ava, and Lukas; brothers, Benjamin Maliwat and wife Dominga, Jaime Maliwat and wife Elizabeth, Romulo Maliwat and wife Wilma; sister, Helen Jarquio and husband Ferdinand; sister in law, Paulina Maliwat and numerous nieces and nephews.
