Marlene Zieger

January 4, 1949 — June 15, 2009

Marlene J. Zieger, 60, passed away June 15, 2009, at her home after a battle with cancer. Services will be 10 am, Friday, June 19, 2009 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; cremation. The Rosary will be said at 5:30 pm, Thursday followed by a visitation until 8 pm at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Marlene was born Jan. 4th, 1949 in Beloit, Kansas to John F. and Elizabeth (Betty) Brinker. She spent her career in retail and was currently employed with Gordmans in Kansas City. Marlene served as the President of the Kingston Trails Homeowners Association and served on the board for seven years. She enjoyed ballroom and country and western dancing, reading and spending time with her family. She devoted much of her free time to her nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly.
Survivors include: her mother Elizabeth Brinker of Glen Elder, KS; sister Jane Magne and husband Larry of Penns Park, PA; brother Lee Brinker and wife Karen of Glen Elder, KS; sister Karen and husband Norman of Lee’s Summit, MO; a special friend Carlos Hernandez of Olathe, KS; nephew Jarret Brinker, nieces Danielle Marston, Kimberly Brinker, and Sydney Dexter; great-nephews Brody and Roman Marston. Marlene was preceded in death by husband Ron Zieger and her father John Brinker.
