Catherine Irene Thomas Zimmerman, 87, Kansas City, MO passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 with her family at her side.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Memorial donations are suggested to Christ the King Church.
Catherine was born September 7, 1924 in Newark, NJ the daughter of James Patrick and Tidville Lillian (Jones) Carpenter. She had worked for the GSA and later retired from Mountain Bell in Colorado. Catherine was a member of Christ the King Church. She enjoyed going on walks, watching game shows, and writing letters to her family members which she loved every one of them with all of her heart.
Catherine was preceded in death by her son, David Thomas; granddaughter, Tammy Mounce; brother, James Patrick Carpenter; great granddaughter and her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Bob Thomas and wife Beth; John Thomas; daughter Marianne Brown and husband Arthur; son, Floyd Zimmerman, Jr.; grandchildren, Cory and Angel Blair, Jason Mounce; David Mounce; Catherine Philip, and Amanda Anderson; 12 great grandchildren and additional nieces, nephews and family.
