Marguerite Zumwalt

Marguerite Zumwalt, 88, of Independence, MO passed away August 23, 2011 at her home at the Fountains of Greenbriar, where she’d spent the last four years. Marguerite was born October 18, 1922 in Independence, MO to Russell and Vina (Tippins) Powell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Donald E. Zumwalt; and one daughter, Nancy Werremeyer. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Muhm and son-in-law Bruce; four grandchildren, Kent Werremeyer, David Werremeyer, Sherelyn French and Michael Bryant; two step grandchildren, Christine Noland and Kelly Brgoch; and 16 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. service to follow on Saturday, August 27, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Burial at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Grace Hospice.
