Jessica Lager

Jessica Lager, a dedicated funeral service professional, was born and raised in Crete, Nebraska, and now calls Kearney, Missouri home. A 2002 graduate of Doane University, she went on to earn her degree in Mortuary Science from Kansas City Kansas Community College in 2003. Jessica joined Speaks Chapels in 2007, bringing with her a deep commitment to compassionate care and operational excellence. She began her career as a Funeral Director and Embalmer and later transitioned to a Service Coordinator role to spend more time with her young son. Over the years, Jessica has served in a variety of key roles at Speaks, including Pre-Arrangement Counselor, Financial Controller, and Executive Vice President. Today, she proudly leads as Director of Operations. In every role, Jessica is guided by empathy, professionalism, and a genuine desire to serve families with dignity and respect during their most challenging times. Her approach is rooted in empathy, professionalism, and a genuine desire to support others. Her leadership and dedication also extend to her role as a board member of the Missouri Funeral Directors and Embalmers Association. Outside of work, Jessica is a devoted wife and mother. She finds joy in cheering on her son at football and baseball games and unwinding with music and bonfires on the back patio with her family.
