Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with burial to follow in Blue Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Friday evening at the chapel. Sarah was born September 3, 1986 in Independence, MO to Stuart and DeAnna (Dent) Foster and has lived most of her life in the area, except for a year in North Carolina. She graduated from Lee’s Summit North High School in 2004 and later from Colorado Technical College with a bachelor’s in forensic science. She loved school and was an excellent student, graduating with honors from both high school and college. Sarah had a very challenging life with health issues. She was diagnosed with childhood leukemia at 4½ years old and underwent a bone marrow transplant at age 5, she had 6 different bouts of cancer, which she fought off until her body give up. Sarah is survived by her loving parents, Stuart and DeAnna Foster of Lee’s Summit, MO; her sister Alysha Foster of Lee’s Summit, MO; her grandfather, John H. Dent of Lake Ozark, MO; her aunt, Anita Woods of Parkville, MO and 2 uncles, “Dino” and Lisa Foster of Lee’s Summit, MO and Steve Foster & Mike Tarwater of Naples, Florida.
